BOISE, Idaho - Durrell Summers had a season-high 32 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including 11 points in the first quarter, but the Idaho Stampede lost 109-94 to the Bakersfield Jam. Justin Holiday added 14 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Coby Karl had 17 points for Idaho (16-31).
Jason Ellis collected 12 rebounds and Justin Harper had 13 to go along with eight points, but the Stampede were out-rebounded 58-46. The Stampede shot just 34.8 percent in the game, while Bakersfield made exactly half of their shots (42-84). Sean Evans added nine points and five rebounds.
The Jam (33-13) fell behind by 12 points early in the first quarter, and by as many as 14 in the game, but eventually took the lead with 7:47 to go in the third quarter. Idaho shot just 21.4 percent from the floor in the second quarter, 33.3 percent in the third quarter and 28.6 percent in the fourth quarter, scoring just 36 total points in the second half.
The Stampede play the Jam again tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. as the team holds a Portland Trail Blazer affiliate night. Idaho will wear Blazers jerseys and game production elements, such as the BlazerDancers and Blaze the Trail Cat, will be part of the night as well.
