Stampede Announces Promotion, Acquisitions

BOISE, ID - The Idaho Stampede announced today the promotion of Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jinny Giery and the acquisitions of a Media and Public Relations Coordinator, as well as three Account Executives.

Giery, formerly the Director of Public Relations and Game Operations, is in her fifth year with the franchise, after beginning as an Account Executive. In her role Giery will manage and direct the entire Account Executive team and oversee all aspects of sales. Giery will also help organize, create, market and sell special events and properties and work with the President and General Manager to develop marketing plans and sales calendars, as well as provide back-up support and leadership.

"Jinny has been a terrific employee with the Stampede for a number of years, achieving success in each role she has undertaken," said President and General Manager Steve Brandes. "We are excited to have her continue to climb within our franchise. She is an invaluable asset to our organization and she, along with our other employees, represents the heart of the franchise."

A native of Virginia, Giery completed her undergraduate degree in 2005, majoring in Communications and English at Boise State University.

Travis Tate will take over most of the responsibilities Giery previously held as the new Media and Public Relations Coordinator. Tate is entering his first year in the D-League after internships in basketball communications roles with the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Hornets. Tate received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in Media Studies in 2006.

In his role, Tate will oversee the team website, produce all published content for public consumption and be the primary contact for the media and public.

Clay Long, Gary Lalanne and Jack Smith were all recently hired as Account Executives. Each of them will sell season and group tickets, along with various other operations.

Long enters his first season with the Stampede, coming from Genesee, Idaho. Long got his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Lewis-Clark State College, serving as the student body President. Before relocating to Boise, Long was the Treasurer for the Genesee (Idaho) Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a firefighter and EMS crew member.

Lalanne enters his first season with the Stampede, originating from Porterville, Calif. Lalanne received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in sports marketing from Fresno State University. Prior to his arrival in Boise, Lalanne spent a more than a year working for the Fresno Grizzlies and the Sacramento River Cats, two Triple-A professional baseball teams.

Smith enters his first season with the Stampede, originating from Boise. Smith returns home after five years in Virginia where he graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg - he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Government. Smith was team manager for the men's basketball team, while also working for the Richmond Kickers of the United Soccer League - Second Division as Director of Ticket Sales.
