Dakota Wizards Announce Open Tryouts

Bismarck, N.D. (September 9, 2010) - The Dakota Wizards announced today that the team will hold open tryouts for the 2010-11 season on Saturday and Sunday, October 16-17 at the Verizon Center, the practice facility of the Washington Wizards, the NBA affiliate of the Dakota Wizards. The Verizon Center is located at 601 F Street, NW in Washington D.C.

Open tryouts offer local athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the Dakota Wizards coaching staff while they compete to earn a invite to the team's official training camp. Training camp is scheduled to begin in early November.

Registration begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday and the first session will run from 3-5 p.m. The tryouts will conclude with one session on Sunday from 10-12 p.m. These times are subject to change.

Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and are required to pr-register by submitting the official registration, release, disclosure and background check forms, along with a $150 nonrefundable fee. Tryout forms are available online at dakotawizards.com. Completed forms and entry fee must be submitted to the Wizards office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 to secure a spot in the tryout camp. Participants who register after the deadline or the first day of the tryout will be charged $175. Registration will start at 2 p.m. on October 16 at the Verizon Center.

Season tickets and 5-ticket flex packs for the 2010-11 season are on sale. Single game tickets will go on sale in early November. The home opener is set for Friday, Nov. 19 against the Iowa Energy. For more information contact the Dakota Wizards at (701) 258-2255.
