
Stalock Stunts Rampage

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Wild (11-13-1-1, 24 points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (11-12-1-0, 23 points) 4-0 in front of 6,187 fans on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Wild goalie Alex Stalock (7-7-1) stopped 23 shots for the shutout win. Forwards Jeff Hoggan, Jordan Schroeder, Sam Anas and Alex Tuch each scored for Iowa in the win. Rampage goalie Spencer Martin (11-7-0) stopped 31 of 35 shots in the loss. Iowa heads to Cleveland for a pair of games starting on Wednesday at 6 PM CT.
Wild forward Jeff Hoggan opened the scoring at 19:23 of the first period, giving Iowa a 1-0 lead. Hoggan's fourth goal of the season was set up by defenseman Zach Palmquist and forward Nick Saracino. Hoggan deflected a shot from Palmquist from the blue line, beating Martin for the late first period lead.
Alex Tuch extended Iowa's lead to 2-0 at 19:05 of the second period. Pat Cannone assisted Tuch's sixth goal of the season. Cannone centered the puck to the net and Tuch scored off the rebound.
Wild forward Sam Anas made it 3-0 Iowa at 10:42 of the third period. Center Grayson Downing and defenseman Palmquist helped set up Anas' third goal of the season. Forward Jordan Schroeder scored his fifth goal of the year for Iowa at 13:19 of the third period. The shorthanded goal was unassisted for the 4-0 final.
After a pair of road games in Cleveland, Iowa returns home for a two-game visit from the Manitoba Moose on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 PM. It's Toys for Tots night, where fans may donate a toy and receive a ticket voucher for a future Iowa Wild home game. All donations benefit Toys for Tots, sponsored by Complete Nutrition and KCCI. The Subway Combo Pack is available for purchase at the game. There is also a postgame skate at the conclusion of the game. Rental skates are available for $2, and proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association.
