St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The St. John's IceCaps fought hard but could not complete the comeback as they were shaded 2-1 by the Springfield Thunderbirds at Mile One Centre on Saturday Night.

Both teams went scoreless through two periods of play, until former IceCap - and Springfield's Chase Balisy potted back-to-back tallies in the third to give the Thunderbirds the lead.

IceCaps' Jacob de la Rose marked his first of the season to bring St. John's within one, but St. John's couldn't get another one past T-Bird's netminder Reto Berra, who stopped 30 shots in a second star performance.

St. John's forward Chris Terry stretched his point streak to five games (4G, 6A) with an assist on de la Rose's tally. Dan Audette picked up the other helper. Charlie Lindgren stopped 24-of-26 shots in the loss.

The IceCaps are back in action on Wednesday, December 14th against the Binghamton Senators. Catch all the action with at www.stjohnsicecaps.com, KIXX Country 930AM and www.ahllive.com.
