St. Pierre snags UHL Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN --- The UHL announced today that Komet netminder Kevin St. Pierre has been named the Goaltender of the Week for the period of Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 2004. It's his 2nd consecutive UHL Goaltender of the Week award and 4th weekly honor for the season. St. Pierre was also named the UHL Goaltender of the Month for November, 2003.

St. Pierre posted a 2-0-0 record, 1.00 goals-against average and .967 save percentage in 2 appearances for the week. The Sherbrooke, Ontario native stopped 26 of 28 shots while allowing 2 power play tallies in a 4-2 victory at Missouri Thursday for his 8th straight road win.

Friday St. Pierre registered his 5th shutout of the season making 32 saves in a 5-0 win against the visiting Elmira Jackals. It was his 10th straight win and the victory set a new Fort Wayne Komets record of consecutive games won for a goaltender in a UHL season.

St. Pierre finished the week leading UHL goalies with a 1.98 goals against average and .926 save percentage in 31 games played.

St. Pierre, 28, is in his 9th pro season, 3rd UHL and first with the Komets.
