St. Cloud Rox Announce 2013 Schedule

St. Cloud, MN- The Northwoods League today released its 2013 schedule for its 20th Anniversary Season, featuring Inter-Division play.

The St. Cloud Rox will start their second season and 70 game schedule on Wednesday, May 29th in Iowa at the Waterloo Bucks. The Rox will return to St. Cloud for the 2013 home opener on Friday, May 31st versus the Thunder Bay (Ontario) Border Cats. The Rox who play in the north division will play the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and La Crosse Loggers of the south division in inter-division play during the second half of the season. The Northwoods League hasn't had inter-division play since the 2009 season.

The Northwoods League, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first-half of play on July 3. The All-Star game will take place on July 23, 2013 in Eau Claire, WI.

"It is great to have our schedule in place. It gives everyone involved with planning the season a more focused approach," said Rox Vice President Scott Schreiner. "In addition we are very pleased with our schedule for the fans. We have three more weekend dates than 2012 and overall a much more balanced schedule than last year."

The Northwoods League has 16 teams in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and Ontario. 98 former Northwoods League players have gone on to play major league baseball. The Rox finished their inaugural season in 2012 by leading the north division in attendance with over 55,000 fans attending Rox games. Rox season tickets are currently on sale. Single game tickets will go on sale in early May along with the release of the promotional schedule.
