Spurs Caravan August 5 at Whataburger Field

July 19, 2011 - Texas League (TL) - Corpus Christi Hooks News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI - South Texas basketball fans, representatives of your San Antonio Spurs are coming to Whataburger Field.

The four-time NBA champions (1999-2003-2005-2007), who've captured 17 division titles since 1978, join forces with the Hooks to provide the best in affordable family entertainment on Friday, August 5... before and during Corpus Christi's 7:05 contest vs. Midland.

Afterwards, it's Friday Fireworks presented by Bud Light.

"The San Antonio Spurs have a championship legacy on the court and are positive difference-makers in the lives of not only San Antonians but South Texans away from at&t CENTER," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "We look forward to welcoming members of the Spurs family to Corpus Christi. Their presence on August 5 will enhance our fan experience."

Leave work a little early on 8/5. Pick up the kids because you won't want them to miss the fun of playing on Spurs interactive inflatables while you enjoy a pregame tailgate party with some of Corpus Christi's leading citizens and Spurs team officials. The action begins at 5 o'clock, 30 minutes before Whataburger Field gates open.

A special performance by the Spurs Silver Dancers highlights pregame festivities and San Antonio's official mascot, "The Coyote," will be up to his usual antics, so Rusty and Sammy better be on the lookout!

You can see all four Spurs championship trophies on display and enjoy the Spurs Experience RV.

Finally, eligible patrons have the opportunity to register for a Spurs Open Practice VIP package, tentatively scheduled for early October at at&t CENTER.

For tickets to Hooks-RockHounds on August 5 or any other Hooks home game, go to cchooks.com, call 361-561-4665 (HOOK) or visit the Whataburger Field box office.
