FOLLOW THE FLAG - The Texas League Commemorative Ball and Flag Tour is coming to a Whataburger near you! Last Saturday, Hooks mascots Sammy Seagull and Rusty Hook, Whataguy and Texas League President Tom Kayser kicked off the 38-day, 15-stop, 2,500 mile trek to Whataburger restaurants in current and former Texas League cities.

The event culminates with the 71st Texas League All-Star Game on Tuesday, June 26th at Whataburger Field, where the flag will fly above the center field batters' eye and the commemorative ball will be used for the ceremonial first pitch. "CLASSIC" PROGRAMS - Heading into college baseball's conference tournament weekend, Whataburger College Classic participants from past years and future events have packed Baseball America's Top 25. This week's poll features Rice and TCU, two-time entries, at No. 2 and 18, respectively. The champion of the inaugural Classic, Arizona State, sits at 7, while Arizona, which is lined up for '08, ranks 13. Oklahoma, slated for '10, checks in at 21. Outside of TAMUCC, Texas Tech is the only Whataburger College Classic team not in the current top 25.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? - This week's Texas League All-Star spotlight is on Joe Morgan. A 10-time Major League All-Star and two-time NL MVP, Morgan played with the San Antonio Bullets in 1964 and was named Texas League MVP. He drove in the game-tying run in the sixth inning as the Texas Leaguers went on to beat the Houston Colt .45s 8-6 at the All-Star game in San Antonio. Over his 22-year MLB career, Morgan racked up 2,517 hits, 449 doubles, 268 homers, 1,133 RBI's and 689 stolen bases. He became the 11th second baseman elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990.

Morgan has since transitioned to the broadcast booth, joining Jon Miller for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball telecasts. He won Emmy awards in 1998 and 2005.
