November 3, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons are working to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and other men's health issues during the month of November, known as Movember, by teaming with the Movember Foundation. Additionally, the Falcons will be holding a Movember game on Friday, Nov. 7 when they host the St. John's IceCaps at 7 p.m.
The Falcons have joined with the Movember Foundation to raise money for men's health issues. Fans may contribute to the Falcons' Movember fund through a link on the team's website or by visiting mobro.co/thefalconsahl. To further support the cause, Falcons staff and players will also be growing mustaches throughout November.
The Movember game on Nov. 7 will focus on raising awareness for the Movember Foundation, while providing fans with more information about prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's mental health issues. In recognition of the foundation's mustache initiative, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a stick-on mustache.
The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men's health. Once signed up on Movember.com, men grow and women support just a moustache for the 30 days of November, getting friends and family to donate to their moustache growing efforts.
The Movember community has raised over $550 million, and has funded over 800 programs in 21 countries to date. This work is saving and improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
The Springfield Falcons host the St. John's IceCaps on Nov. 5 and Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. Ticket packages are on sale now. To reserve your seats, call (413) 739-GOAL (4625) or visit the team office inside the MassMutual Center Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For all the latest Falcons information and updates, follow the back-to-back Northeast Division Champions at www.falconsahl.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/falconsahl and on Twitter (@TheFalconsAHL) using #SPRFalcons!
