Coyotes Recall Gormley, Assign Hodgman to Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Brandon Gormley and assigned forward Justin Hodgman to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 22-year-old Gormley has recorded 1-2-3 and six penalty minutes (PIM) in six games with the Pirates this season. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island registered a plus-four rating in five games with the Coyotes in 2013-14. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.

The 26-year-old Hodgman has appeared in four games with Arizona this season. He made his NHL debut and scored his first career goal on Oct. 25 vs. Florida. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Brampton, Ontario has also played in three contests with the Pirates. Hodgman signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 1, 2014.
