Columbus Blue Jackets Recall Defenseman Frederic St. Denis

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defensemen Frederic St. Denis from the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

St. Denis, 28, has appeared in six games with the Falcons this season, collecting one point (1a) and four penalty minutes. During the 2013-14 season, he notched 26 points (9g, 17a), 32 penalty minutes and was +16 in 60 games with Springfield and earned his second appearance in the AHL All-Star Game. The 5-11, 188-pound defenseman has collected 115 points (28g, 87a), 156 penalty minutes and is +42 in 329 career AHL appearances.

The Greenfield Park, Quebec native has also registered three points (1g, 2a), 10 penalty minutes and is +3 in 17 career NHL games, all during the 2011-12 season with the Montreal Canadiens. Prior to turning pro, St. Denis played five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2002-07, tallying 155 points (44g, 111a) and 199 penalty minutes in 285 games with Drummondville.
