Springfield Armor News Release

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, today announced that they have acquired forward Kenny Adeleke from the NBA D-League's available player pool. To make room on the roster, the Armor waived Cliff Tucker.

Adeleke (6-8, 250, Hartford) has enjoyed a six-year professional basketball career that has included stops in Israel, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the Continental Basketball Association. Most recently, Adeleke played for Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel in the China NBL. After going undrafted in the 2006 NBA Draft, Adeleke joined the New York Knicks summer league team in Las Vegas. Adeleke was waived by the Knicks and caught on with the Seattle Supersonics, appearing in two preseason games with the team before being waived. Adeleke re-joined the Supersonics for the Las Vegas summer league in 2007, appearing in two games before being waived again.

Adeleke played the first three years of his collegiate career at Hofstra before exhausting his final year of eligibility at the University of Hartford. In his senior season at Hartford, Adeleke appeared in 28 games, averaging 20.7 points and 13.1 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game. Adeleke was one of two unanimous selections to the All-America East First Team following his senior season (2005-06).

Tucker was a third round selection (46th overall) by Springfield in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft. A rookie from the University of Maryland, Tucker appeared in 13 games (one start) with the Armor, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game.

Adeleke, 29, will be available tonight when the Armor host the Maine Red Claws at 7:00 pm at the MassMutual Center on 'Superheroes and Mentoring Night', presented by First Niagara.
