Springfield Acquires Justin Johnson

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, announced today that they have acquired guard Justin Johnson from the NBA Development League's available player pool.

Johnson (6-2, 175, Concordia-Irvine) joins the Armor after appearing in three games this season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 8.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 17.0 minutes per game. He was waived by Santa Cruz on Jan. 30.

During the 2011-12 NBA D-League season, Johnson appeared in 45 games (two starts) for the Dakota Wizards, averaging 9.2 points on .434 shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 21.7 minutes per game. He also appeared in one playoff game, scoring 11 points in 19 minutes off the Wizards' bench.

In a corresponding move, Springfield has waived guard Thomas Baudinet.

Johnson will wear jersey No. 9 and will be available tonight when the Armor host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7:00 pm at the MassMutual Center.
