
Sports take second straight from St. Paul

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports took the second straight game from St. Paul, winning Tuesday at Fair Grounds Field 5-4. The Sports had a 5-1 lead going into the eighth inning as the Saints loaded the bases with nobody out, but Matt Clayman in relief for the Sports struck out two of three hitters and only one run scored. However, in the ninth inning Trey Poland gave up three hits and three walks as St. Paul pulled to within one run. With the bases loaded and two outs, Poland struck out Ben Thomas on a 3-2 pitch to preserve the victory for Shreveport. Terrence McClain led the way for the Sports with three hits, including his second home run in two nights. Adam Hale also had a two-run home run for the Sports. Shreveport and St. Paul will meet in the third game of the series Wednesday at 7:05 with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
