
Sports Defeat El Paso in 11 Innings

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
Former Bossier (Parkway) and LSU-Shreveport standout Bryan Cooksey singled with one out in the 11th inning to give the Shreveport Sports a 6-5 win over El Paso Wednesday at Fair Grounds Field.
Tommy Bryant led off the 11th with a single, his second hit of the game. Melvin Falu sacrifice bunt moved Bryant to second. After Dusty Maddox walked, Cooksey went to a full count before the single to left center field to chase home Bryant and the winning run.
It was the first extra inning victory of the season for Shreveport and moved the Sports into second place only 1 ½ games behind first place El Paso in the South Division of the American Association.
The final game of the four-game series with El Paso will be played Thursday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time 7:05 pm with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
