Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors will take on the Long Beach Ice Dogs in a pair of West Coast Hockey League games this weekend at Centennial Garden on Friday and Saturday night. Both games start at 7:00pm.

On Friday night, SpongeBob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius make their debut in CondorsTown. The two Nickelodeon stars appear courtesy of Time Warner Cable and 101.5 KGFM. That night is also a Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club Game. All members of the kids club receive free terrace level admission to the game. Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club is sponsored by Time Warner Cable, The Bakersfield Californian and John's Incredible Pizza. Also, it's another Time Warner Cable Family Night as well, as Time Warner subscribers can receive $5 terrace tickets by presenting the coupon to the box office that was included with their monthly cable bill.

Friday's game can be seen live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21, and it will be replayed on Saturday morning at 10:00am.

On Saturday night, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a Condors Metal Lunch Pail. One of the most highly anticipated promotional giveaways of the season, the old-school items are sponsored by KGET-TV 17, Mercedes-Benz of Bakersfield and Subway.

Saturday night is also SBC Yellow Pages Recycling Night, and features a $2 discount to the game for anyone bringing an old SBC Pacific Bell yellow pages directory to recycle. For the second straight season, the Condors have graced the cover of the SBC directory, appearing alongside a photo of Centennial Garden.

The team is on the road in San Diego on Sunday evening, in a 5:00pm start. All games can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to face off. Condors broadcaster Kevin Bartl handles the play-by-play.

While the team is in San Diego, the fun continues at Centennial Garden with a KBID 1350 Public Skate from 1:00-3:00pm. Admission is just $7 and limited skate rental is available for an additional $3.

The Condors Coach's Show airs every Thursday on KGEO AM 1230. Join the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl, and Head Coach Paul Kelly live from the Q Street Bistro at the Holiday Inn Select. Tonight's guest will be left wing Paul Rosebush. Normally live, this week's show will be recorded from 6:00-7:00pm, and will air immediately following Los Angeles Kings hockey, which begins at 5:00pm on KGEO. Due to travel constraints, next week's show will air live from Long Beach on Wednesday, February 26th, as part of an extended "Condors Countdown" prior to the match against the Ice Dogs.

Also tonight, at Centennial Garden, is the second session of Ladies' Night at Condors University. Participants will learn the finer points of the game from the players and coaches, and will spend the entire time on the ice. The ladies will also be treated to a dinner and autograph session afterwards, and receive a free ticket to an upcoming game.

Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, which is open from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
