ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the East Coast Hockey signed goalie Dave Marlin and forward Pat Staerker, it was announced today by Bullies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Michael Haviland.
The Bullies traded for Marlin in a one-player deal with the Northwest Division Toledo Storm. Marlin re-joins the Bullies for his third stint with the team this season. In his only start, the Downingtown, Pa., earned a 4-1 win against the Trenton Titans on November 30, 2002.
Ironically, the 6-2, 210-pound netminder stopped 33 Bullies shots in a 5-4 Titans win on January 29, his only start with Trenton. Marlin also recorded some playing time with the Storm.
Staerker, a speedy left wing, last played in the ECHL with the Pensacola Ice Pilots in the 2000-01 season. The 5-11, 168-pound forward registered 39 points (14G, 25A) in 61 games.
After playing four seasons at the Rochester Institute of Technology (1996-00), the Tonawanda, NY, native began his professional career with the Mississippi Sea Wolves in 1999-00.
Both Marlin and Staerker will join the Bullies lineup in time for this weekend's back-to-back matchups against the league-leading Peoria Rivermen.
In other Bullies news, goalie Jason Siitonen was released to make room on the roster for Marlin.
