Old Time Hockey Comes to Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. âIn a surprise last minute transaction, the Fresno Falcons have signed some reinforcements to assist them as they combat the "evil" San Diego Gulls on Friday nightâthe world famous Hanson Brothers! The Hansons will be in Fresno for one night only at 7:30pm on Friday to celebrate 70's Night and bring "Old Time Hockey" to Selland Arena. The Hanson Brothers, presented by Budget Car Sales and Rentals, were made famous by the 1977 classic hockey movie Slap Shot.
The Hanson Brothers will be joining the Falcons on the ice for the pre-game introductions, so be sure to get there early to see the show! The Hansons will also be around during first intermission to help judge the 70's Night on-ice Dance Contest, sponsored by Vision Care Center. The winners of the contest will receive a gift certificate from Vision Care Center. The Hansons will be available at the Central Valley.com Autograph booth during the second period intermission to sign autographs and will also be walking through the crowd later on in the game. Also, at the beginning of second intermission, representatives from Budget will be on hand to give away "Herbie the Love Bug." Fans are still welcome to register to win the vintage Volkswagen Bug at the Budget location on 6291 N. Blackstone until Friday morning.
Bring your extra change to the game, as Pennies from the Heart will be on hand collecting change to benefit the Valley Teen Ranch. Whichever fan brings in the most change according to weight will receive a Citizen watch! The Coast Guard will also have a table on the concourse with recruiting information available. Be sure to stick around after the game for a post-game party at the Old Fresno Hofbrau!
