Spokane Indians News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians 2015 roster will feature the No. 4 overall pick from the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft, RHP Dillon Tate, local Whitworth star RHP Dan Scheibe, and the Rangers' No. 12 and 18 overall prospects, SS Yeyson Yrizarri and 3B Ti'Quan Forbes, respectively.

Tate finished his 2015 college season with a 111 strikeouts and a 2.26 ERA as the Gauchos' closer. He allowed just 5.75 hits per nine innings which ranks 11th in the nation. He uses a fastball that sits between 92-98 mph, and an 86-87 mph slider to keep other hitters on point.

Scheibe, who grew up a few hours away in Richland, Wash., threw the first nine-inning no-hitter by a Whitworth pitcher in the metal bat era in the Northwest Conference Tournament over Linfield in April.

Yrizarri signed with the Rangers as the No. 7 international prospect in 2014. In nine games playing for the Rangers' AAA team, the Round Rock Express, he hit .273 with nine hits and four RBIs in just nine games. Forbes, a second-round pick in 2014, sported an on-base percentage of .338 with the Arizona Rookie League Rangers last season.

Spokane welcomes back three familiar faces from the 2014 squad, with OF Doug Votolato, OF Diego Cedeno and RHP Jason Hoppe suiting up once again. In addition, RHP John Kukuruda (2012) returns as a minor league free agent.

Other notable players drafted in the top 10 of the MLB Draft include RHP Nick Green (seventh round, 2014), RHP Blake Bass (eighth, 2015), RHP Peter Fairbanks (ninth, 2015), SS Leon Byrd Jr. (10th, 2015).
