Kenosha, WI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters swept the Kenosha Kingfish with a 6-4 victory on Thursday. The win clinches the season-series victory for Traverse City, 7-5 over Kenosha.

Traverse City took the lead early and added on for the first four innings. Trey Truitt brought in the opening run with a fielder's choice RBI in the top of the second. Alec Atkinson scored him with an RBI double.

In the third, Colin Summerhill singled home Marshall Toole for his 48th RBI of the season, increasing his team lead. Next inning, Sam Tackett scored on a double play groundout to make it 4-0. No more runs came across until the seventh, with both runs scoring on one wild pitch. Evan Orzech scored, and Toole came around after an error on the throw to third.

Easton Johnson was dominant in his first start of the season. The Creighton product went seven scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He allowed three hits and two walks, while working out of minimum trouble. He only allowed multiple baserunners once, getting a double play to end a bases loaded threat in the seventh.

The Kingfish tried to make it interesting late. They put up two unearned in the eighth and two unearned in the ninth. With the tying run on first, Mitch White got a strikeout to seal the win and send the Pit Spitters into their final regular season home series with a sweep.
