Fond du Lac, Wis. - The Lakeshore Chinooks fell to the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 7-6 in extra innings in their fourth straight loss.
Fond du Lac alongside the Chinooks (15-17) are in the race to secure that second spot in the playoffs, but the Dock Spiders (16-18) moved one step closer when Tyler Hawkins was hit by a pitch with bases loaded bringing in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning.
The Dock Spiders in the beginning set the tone, scoring first in the bottom of the first inning on a Kemp Alderman sacrifice fly to score Parker Noland after he led off the inning with a single to center field.
Bryant Diel put the Chinooks on the board to tie the game in the top of the second with a hard hit double to the left field wall scoring Zach Storbakken. Storbakken reached base on a double to left field.
Fond du Lac opened up the lead in the bottom of the second taking a 4-1 lead on a double and a single.
Jackson Reid (3-0, 4.33 ERA) got the start on the mound for the Chinooks pitching two innings. Reid allowed four runs on three hits.
The Chinooks capitalized on the Dock Spiders errors when Andy Nelson reached on an error by the Dock Spiders shortstop. Nelson scored to make it a two-run ball game on a passed ball.

Bryce Stober brought the Chinooks even closer making it a one run game on a sacrifice fly to center field.
As the Chinooks got closer, the Dock Spiders took a 5-3 lead after Alderman continued to be a reliable bat with a sacrifice fly to center field.
In the top of the seventh the Chinooks took a 6-5 lead after Nathan Aide singled to the pitcher scoring Nelson and Matt DePrey on an overthrow to first base. Matthias Hass then put the Chinooks ahead with a sacrifice fly ball to left field scoring Aide.

Luke Schafer (0-3, 9.93 ERA) came into pitch for the Chinooks in the middle of the ninth inning and put a stop to the Dock Spiders as he left runners in scoring position.
The Chinooks were able to load the bases in the top of the tenth inning with two outs, but a 4-6 fielder's choice ended the inning.
