Windsor Spitfires News Release

Tom Kuhnhackl had the game-winning goal in a shootout for the second time in a week, as the Windsor Spitfires clipped the Owen Sound Attack, 4-3 on Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.

Jake Carrick had a pair of goals and Stephen Johnston potted his 20th of the season, as the Spits (36-22-3-3) moved three points ahead of the Plymouth Whalers for fourth in the Western Conference and to within three of Saginaw for first in the West Division.

Jack Campbell was outstanding in goal again, making 34 saves and two more big ones in the shootout.

Ryan Ellis had an assist, extending his streak of games with at least a point to 17.

Zack Kassian was a healthy scratch for Windsor, which dressed just 16 skaters - 11 forwards and five defencemen.

The Spits are off until Sunday afternoon, when they host the Sarnia Sting in a 2PM matinee.
