Spitfires Win Game 4 in Sarnia 4-1 and Lead Series 3-1

The Spitfires got down early but mounted a big comeback in the 2nd period to win game 4 of the series.

In the first period, the Sting scored just 2:15 in and Spits faithful might have been a bit worried. The Spitfires outshot the Sting 11-8 through the period but trailed 1-0.

In the second period, the Spitfires came alive. Just over 4 minutes into the period, Maillet scored his 1st of the post season o a backhander that went through the wickets of the netminder. Currie and Sobolev grabbed assists on the goal. Just 5 and a half minutes later, Cuylle got the puck on the wing and skated down the ice and ripped a hard shot bar down and in to give the Spitfires a 2-1 lead. Abraham and DeAngelis had assists on the goal. Another 5 minutes later, Oliver Peer walked into the slot and scored his 1st of the post season and gave the Spitfires a 3-1 lead. The Spitfires led in shots 22-19 after 40 minutes.

In the third period, the Spitfires would add another goal with Wyatt Johnston grabbing his 1st on a bounce in front of the net. Cuylle and Abraham had assists on the goal and the Spitfires cruised to a big win in game 4.

The Spitfires and Sting are back in action as the Spits look to end the series on Saturday at the WFCU Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
