Windsor Spitfires News Release
(GUELPH) Kerby Rychel scored a pair of goals and Jaroslav Pavelka made 22 saves, as the Spitfires put together a complete 60-minute effort, in a 5-0 win over the Storm in Guelph on Friday night. Derek Holden added three assists in his second game with the club. Jeff Braithwaite, Alexander Khokhlachev and Zack MacQueen had the other goals for Windsor. MacQueen was credited with what looked to be Jordan Maletta's first of the season.
Although the goal wasn't changed immediately after the game, it is believed it will be when reviewed further.
The Spitfires (19-20-3-1) got the all-important first goal, when Braithwaite charged to the net and tipped home a Nick Ebert feed just 3:30 into the opening period.
Rychel's first of the game came at the 11-minute mark, staking us to a 2-0 lead after 20. Kerby struck again, for his 25th of the season, at 9:46 of the second period. Khokhlachev's 18th of the season made it 4-0 at 18:29 on the power play.
Sandwiched among the five goals were at least a half dozen brilliant saves from Pavelka, including two larcenous stops off Zack Mitchell.
