
Spitfires Take Season Series with Win in Peterborough

(Peterborough, ON) - The Windsor Spitfires claimed the season series with a 7-3 win over the Peterborough Petes at the PMC on Thursday night.
Windsor scored three goals in each of the first and second periods before the Petes got on the board. Zach Gallant (25, 26) scored two power play markers while J.R. Avon (3) scored at even strength. The Spitfires sealed the victory with a late empty net goal.
Semyon Der-Arguchintsev recorded two assists on the night. While his goal scoring streak was halted at 14 games, Nick Robertson extended his point streak to 16 games with an assist. Declan Chisholm, David Maier, and Tucker Robertson also had single helpers.
Hunter Jones stopped 14 of 20 shots before being replaced by Tye Austin who turned away all 11 shots he faced in relief.
Final shots were 33-32 in favour of the Petes. Peterborough went 2/6 on the power play and 6/9 on the penalty kill.
The Petes will visit the Owen Sound Attack on Saturday, February 15 at 7:30pm before returning home for a Family Day matinee against the Sudbury Wolves at 2:05pm.
