
Spitfires Rally Late and Win in OT to Beat 67's

OTTAWA -- The Windsor Spitfires scored the tying goal in the dying minutes and got the winner early in overtime to beat the Ottawa 67's 4-3 on Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.
Trevor Murphy scored his second of the game just 35 seconds into extra time to give the Spitfires the victory, after Windsor had tied it with 57 seconds remaining on a goal by Lucas Venuto.
Logan Brown, son of 67's coach Jeff Brown, recorded an assist on the tying goal.
The 67's trailed 2-0 in the first, but fought their way back into the game.
Travis Konecny scored a highlight goal late in the first to get the 67's on the board.
Defence partners Alex Lintuniemi and Jacob Middleton each scored in the second period to lift the 67's into the lead. Konecny had an assist on each of those goals.
Alex Fotinos made 27 saves to record the win in goal for Windsor. Liam Herbst stopped 32 shots in his ninth consecutive start.
The 67's cross the border into the U.S. and face the Saginaw Spirit on Friday, then complete the weekend road trip on Saturday in Plymouth, Michigan against the Whalers.
Ottawa returns home for a game March 6 at TD Place against the London Knights. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
