Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Windsor Spitfires could not right the ship against a struggling Otters team. They came into the game with a 1-3-1 record and were able to get their 2nd win and first for new goaltender Ben Gaudreau.
Throughout the game the Otters seemed to have the jump on the Spitfires and were winning puck battles and converting on all their opportunities. A lot of odd man rushes led to goals and ultimately the win for Erie. It was the first game in an Otters uniform for Ben Gaudreau who was acquired via trade from the Sarnia Sting last week. The Otters would score 7 unanswered goals in 50 minutes before the Spitfires found the back of the net. Peer found Castle back door and he scored his 2nd on the season to make it a 7-1 game. Notably the Spitfires powerplay went 0/5 and gave up a shorthanded goal while Erie went 1/4 on the powerplay.
The Spitfires are on the road in Kitchener on Sunday for a 2pm puck drop.
