Mississauga, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (3-2-0-0) will take on the Mississauga Steelheads (5-1-0-0) on Saturday, October 14th, at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. The Spirit are looking to recuperate after falling to the Oshawa Generals, 6-4, last night.

Last Game:
The Spirit fell 6-4 to the Oshawa Generals last night despite a late third period surge. Valetin Zhugin scored his first hat trick of the season while Calem Mangone chipped in with a goal. Nolan Lalonde made his first start in net this season for the Spirit, saving 28 of 32 shots.
Mississauga is coming off a 3-2 win in Guelph last night. Chas Sharpe scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season with Angus MacDonell scoring his fourth as well. Jack Ivankovic started for the Steelheads, saving 35 of 37 shots.
Last Season:
Saginaw took both games in last year's season series, split between the Dow Event Center and the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Roberto Mancini scored the game winning goal in overtime for a 4-3 win in Saginaw on October 29th. A 3-1 Spirit win followed in Mississauga on February 20th. Matyas Sapovaliv scored a pair of goals and Hunter Haight sealed the win with a 3rd period powerplay goal.
Players to watch:
Zayne Parekh leads the team in points with nine (9) and in assists with eight (8). Hunter Haight follows him with eight (8) points (4G, 4A). Haight is also currently tied with Valentin Zhugin for the team's goal lead with four (4). Andrew Oke currently leads the Spirit with a 2.02 goals against average (GAA) and .922 save percentage (SV%).
Angus MacDonell leads the Steelheads with nine points (4G, 5A). Chas Sharpe leads the team in goals with five (5) while Zander Veccia leads with six (6) assists. Ryerson Leenders is undefeated in four games this season, sporting a 1.00 GAA, .967 SV% and two shutouts.
Saginaw currently has five (5) players with ties to the National Hockey League (NHL), including Joey Willis (Nashville), Matyas Sapovliv (Vegas), Hunter Haight (Minnesota), Nolan Lalonde (Columbus), and Braden Haché (Florida).
Mississauga currently has one (1) player drafted to the National Hockey League (NHL) in Angus MacDonell (Dallas).
