The Spitfires bet the Spirit in a high scoring affair to extend the teams win streak to 5 games as well as improve to 12 straight wins at home.
In the first period the Spitfires got on the board early. Just 1:10 in Alex Christopoulos scored his 12th on the season from Cuylle and Henault. However, just 50 seconds later the Spirit tied it up. The Spitfires responded just three and a half minutes later. D'Amico was sprung on a partial breakaway and he buried it. A sweet feed from Miedema on the assist and Maggio had the 2nd assist on the play. Just over halfway through the period, Maggio scored all alone in front to make it a 3-1 one. D'Amico and Maillet drew assists on the goal. The Spitfires had a 15-13 lead in shots after 20.
In the second period, the goals came in bunches and a total of 8 were scored in the frame. 4 for each side. Saginaw scored just a minute in to make it a one goal deficit before Maggio restored the two goal lead 4 minutes later. Just a minute and a half after that Saginaw scored to make it a 4-3 game. The Spitfires responded just a minute and 20 seconds later on a 2 on 0, Miedema passed it across to DeAngelis who scored his 4th on the season.
