Spitfires Announce 2010 Training Camp Schedule

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires, two-time defending MasterCard Memorial Cup and Rogers OHL Champions, are proud to announce that the team will open its annual training camp on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 at the WFCU Centre. Returning players and new prospects will engage in a three-day camp to determine the Spitfires roster for the 2010-2011 season.

The schedule of events for camp is as follows. Fans are encouraged to enter through Gate 2 of the WFCU Centre to attend the practices and scrimmages, to be hosted on the main bowl:

Practice - Team Red Scrimmage - Team White vs. Team Blue

9:00 a.m. 10:15 a.m.

Practice - Team White Scrimmage - Team Red vs. Team Blue

3:00 p.m. 4:15 p.m.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Practice - Team Blue Scrimmage - Team Red vs. Team White

9:00 a.m. 10:15 a.m.

3:00 p.m. - Practice (players TBA)

4:00 p.m. - Inter-Camp Scrimmage (players TBA)

*Please note that rosters for Team Red, White and Blue will be released as the camp commences.

The Windsor Spitfires 2010-2011 training camp will conclude as players from camp will participate in the team's annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at the WFCU Centre. Scrimmage time is set for 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for 2010-2011 Spitfires pre-season and regular season games will be available for purchase starting Monday, August 23rd, 2010 at 10 am. Tickets can be purchased from the TekSavvy.com Box Office located at Gate 2 of the WFCU Centre, by visiting the Spitfire website at www.windsorspitfires.com or by phone at 1-866-969-9328.

Windsor's September 2010 pre-season and regular season home game schedule at the WFCU Centre is as follows. Please note that fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the Memorial Cup, J. Ross Robertson and Wayne Gretzky Western Conference championship trophies in the WFCU Centre concourse at specially designated games as marked below:

PRE-SEASON HOME OPENER - Mon. 6th vs. Plymouth Whalers - 2:00 p.m.

Thurs. 9th vs. Czech Republic Under-20's - 7:05 p.m.

Fri. 10th vs. Sarnia Sting - 7:05 p.m. - Photo Opportunity for fans with championship trophies

Sat. 18th vs. Erie Otters - 6:05 p.m. - Photo Opportunity for fans with championship trophies

SPITFIRES REGULAR SEASON HOME OPENER - Thurs. 23rd vs. Plymouth Whalers - 7:05 p.m. - Special pre-game ceremonies with championship trophies on-ice, photo opportunity for fans with championship trophies

BANNER NIGHT - Sun. 26th vs. Barrie Colts - 2:00 p.m. - Photo Opportunity for fans with championship trophies
