Boyds, Md. (May 21, 2014) - The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has waived forward Colleen Williams.
After a stellar college career at Dayton, Williams was selected 6th overall by the Washington Spirit in the 2013 inaugural NWSL college draft. She went on to appear in six matches during the 2013 NWSL season, starting two and logging 128 minutes, before suffering a season ending ACL tear.
Williams, who was put on injured reserve for the first 45 days of the 2014 season, did not appear in any matches this year.
"I want to thank Colleen for the work she has put in with the Spirit over the last year. A great professional who we wish all the best to in the future," said Spirit general manager and head coach Mark Parsons.
