Spirit Take Down Otters 3-0

After defeating the Guelph Storm in Guelph on Friday night, the Saginaw Spirit traveled south to Erie and defeated the Otters by the score of 3-0 on Saturday night. Brandon Saad (2 goals) and Josh Shalla scored for the Spirit. Jake Paterson stopped all 40 shots he faced for the shutout.

In the first period, Saginaw saw themselves on the power play just 1:24 into the game and would capitalize to get out to an early 1-0 lead. Brandon Saad was the goal scorer with assists to Vince Trocheck and Brad Walch. The goal was scored on Saginaw's first shot of the game.

Josh Shalla would put the Spirit up 2-0 with his 25th goal of the season in the second period, with assists from Michael Fine and Brandon Saad. The Spirit would once again convert on the power play, and once again it would come off the stick of Brandon Saad to stretch the lead to 3-0. Assisting on the shot was Josh Shalla and Vince Trocheck.

Jake Paterson would shut the door in the third period stopping 16 shots in the period, as the Spirit would defeated the Otters by the score of 3-0.
