Spirit Primed for Milestone Tenth Season

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit in conjunction with the Ontario Hockey League and it's member teams are proud to release its game schedule for the 2011-2012 regular season. The Spirit play 68 games per year, 34 at its home arena The Dow Event Center of Saginaw.

The Spirit will open their tenth OHL season on the road with back-to-back games against the London Knights on Friday, September 23 and in Owen Sound on Saturday, September 24 against the OHL Champion Attack.

The Saginaw Spirit Home Opening Celebration - presented by your local Meijer Stores with support from Better Made, Nabisco and Pepsi - will start with the team's first game at the Dow Event Center on Friday, September 30 against the Kitchener Rangers and one night later the Ottawa 67's will be the visitors on Saturday, October 1 as the Spirit will unveil its first ever West Division Champion banner earned this past season.

Saginaw Spirit President and Partner Craig Goslin feels that the team's schedule is one of the best in its ten year history. "Our goal of game day schedule management is two-fold. First, we want to keep our three games in three nights scenarios to a minimum and second, we want to get as many Friday and Saturday home nights as possible. We were able to keep our three in three's to seven times this coming season and we were able to secure 18 Saturday dates and 7 Friday night games on home ice. Our players and fans should love this schedule."
