Generals 75th Anniversary Schedule Released

Oshawa, ON - June 3rd, 2011 - The Ontario Hockey League released today the schedule for the 2011-2012 season. The 2011-2012 season will be a significant one for the Oshawa Generals as the Hockey Club will celebrate their 75th Anniversary since the Team's inception in 1937.

The Generals will kick off the celebrations at their Home Opener on Sunday, September 25th at 6:05PM against the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Several other highlights to this season's schedule include the Generals traditional Red Tilson Remembrance Day Game which will take place Saturday, November 12th at 7:05PM against the Ottawa 67's. The 14th Annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Friday, December 2nd against the Sarnia Sting at 7:35PM. The Generals will once again play on New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1st at 2:05PM against the defending OHL Champions the Owen Sound Attack. One of the newer traditions will continue, as the Generals host the Barrie Colts on Family Day, Monday, February 20th at 2:05PM.

The Generals will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary all season long at each one of their home games including a special 75th Anniversary game which will take place in December.

In addition to the release of the Generals schedule the Club is also proud to unveil their 75th Anniversary logo which will be prominent all season long. The Generals would also like to announce that the team will be wearing two special 75th Anniversary Jerseys during a few select games this season which will be unveiled at a later date.

The Generals 2011-2012 home schedule features 17 Sundays (15 - 6:05PM, 2 - 2:05PM), 8 Saturdays (7:05PM), 6 Fridays (7:35PM), 2 Mondays (2:05PM, Thanksgiving Monday & Family Day) and 1 Wednesday (7:05PM, Christmas Holidays).

The Generals will play five exhibition games prior to the start of the regular season beginning with three road games: Sunday, September 4th @ Belleville at 2:05PM, Thursday, September 8th @ Peterborough at 7:05PM and Saturday, September 10th @ Niagara at 7:00PM.

Oshawa will then play host to a pair of home exhibition games on Wednesday, September 14th vs. Belleville at 7:05PM before wrapping up their pre-season schedule on Sunday, September 18th vs. Peterborough at 6:05PM at the General Motors Centre.
