Andrew Dobies and Tommy Hottovy were the second and third picks of the Boston Red Sox this year and figure to be top prospects.
Dobies, a left-hander, came from the University of Virginia, where he helped anchor the staff. This season, Dobies struck out over a batter per inning-pitched and ended the season with a 6-3 record and a 3.41 ERA over a team-leading 108.1 innings pitched.
Hottovy, also a left-hander, came to the Spinners from Wichita State University. Hottovy's impressive 2004 campaign included a 9-3 record and an impressive 2.25 ERA. Additionally, he demonstrated stellar control, walking only ten batters in 76 innings pitched.
Lowell Spinners host first ever Blood Drive
On Friday, July 23 from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. the Lowell Spinners are hosting a Blood Drive in front of the stadium.
There are a total of 50 appointment slots available and anyone who donates blood will receive a pair of Spinners tickets to a future game as a special thanks for the donation.
Also, everyone that donates will be entered in to win Boston Red Sox tickets as a grand prize.

Lowell Spinners Trivia
On July 5, the Spinners welcomed New England Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion David Givens to LeLacheur Park.
In honor of Givens visit, all fans that answer the following trivia question correct will be entered in to win an autographed photo of Givens.

Spinners team-up with Kids Gear
The Lowell Spinners announced they are teaming up once again with "Kids Gear for Baseball," asking fans to donate their used baseball and softball equipment to area youth organizations on Friday, July 16th at LeLacheur Park in exchange for chances to win Red Sox tickets and other valuable prizes.
Fans attending the Friday evening game will be asked to drop off their bats, balls and gloves with "Kids Gear" volunteers situated at Gates A & C.
Kids Gear for Baseball" is a grassroots, non-profit community-based organization that distributes used equipment to needy children in the greater Boston area. Each fan donating equipment will have the opportunity to win autographed memorabilia and other valuable prizes.
"Thanks to the support of the Lowell Spinners, 'Kids Gear' donated equipment to more than 11 youth organizations last year reaching out to nearly 1,000 kids," said Lauren Ritchie. "Heading into our second season, we look forward to providing even more kids with the equipment they need to play ball in 2004."
Seats Available for end of August games
The Spinners have seats available for group and individual ticket sales for the games on August 24, August 25, August 30. August 31, & September 1.
The Spinners are not sold out for the season.
On any night, standing-room tickets are available for $3.50 and a certain amount of seats are available for random games and the end of August.
