GRANVILLE, W.Va. - Nick Dunn drove in a run and scored one, and Edwin Figuera recorded his second consecutive multi-hit game, but the State College Spikes fell to the West Virginia Black Bears, 4-2, on Friday night at Monongalia County Ballpark.

Dunn opened the scoring with an RBI groundout in the first inning, plating Figuera after the Spikes (3-5) third baseman led off with the first of his two singles. In the fourth, Dunn notched a hit to lead off the frame, then scored when Stanley Espinal was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

West Virginia (4-4) used the long ball to its advantage, though. Daniel Amaral led off the bottom of the first with a home run to left field, and Luke Mangieri delivered a solo shot to right in the second. Both home runs were the first of each player's pro career.

The Black Bears added runs on Zac Susi's single in the fourth and Raul Siri's single in the sixth to provide the winning margin.

Figuera now has five hits in the series for State College after recording his sixth three-hit game with the club on Thursday.

Spikes starter Angel Rondon (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit batsman over five-plus innings. Rondon, who started the year with seven scoreless innings on Sunday, recorded three strikeouts during the night.

Black Bears reliever Connor Loeprich (1-0) picked up the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings as the second man in following Aaron Shortridge. Loeprich walked three batters but struck out two.

Ryan Valdes (1) logged three shutout innings to finish the game for West Virginia and earn the save. Valdes yielded two hits and a walk while striking out one batter.

Fabricio Macias collected three hits for the Black Bears.

State College twice left the bases loaded in the game and stranded 11 runners on the night.
