Spikes, Crosscutters Postponed Due to Rain Friday

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Friday night's scheduled game between the State College Spikes and the Williamsport Crosscutters at Historic Bowman Field has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games starting Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

Pitching matchups for the games have not yet been determined. State College was originally slated to have right-hander Jason Creasy (0-2) starting on the hill tonight. Williamsport was originally to have started left-hander Delvin Perez (2-2) in the second game of the four-game set between the two teams.

The game's start was delayed for two hours until the game was officially postponed at 9:05 p.m.

The Spikes and Crosscutters will head back to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Saturday for a single 7:05 p.m. game prior to Sunday's doubleheader. Fans will enjoy a spectacular post-game FIREWORKS show presented by PSECU and The Sentinel . Plus, with the Summer Games in London just around the corner, the Spikes will wear special Team USA-Style jerseys for a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction presented by PSECU to benefit Children's Miracle Network . Fans can bid for the jerseys worn by each Spikes player and coach, and the winners will receive their jerseys on the field immediately after the game.

It's also Mifflin and Juniata County Night at the ballpark, presented by The Sentinel, and kids can run the bases after the game thanks to Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc. on a Spikes Student All-Stars Night.
