Tigers Return Home for Special Saturday at Dodd

NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers return home to start a two-game series with the Lowell Spinners, the NYPL affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. With fireworks after the game, a special appearance by the LIFE STAR Helicopter, a giveaway to the first 1,000 fans, a special premium wine tasting event and a Boy Scout Sleepover after the game, there is something for everyone at Saturday's game! The fireworks show is a makeup from the rainout on June 22 and will start immediately after the game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Connecticut Tigers Coffee Mug. The pre-game features a special first pitch delivery by the LIFE STAR helicopter. The LIFE STAR crew will be on hand to greet fans from 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. as they enter the stadium. There will be a premium wine tasting event at "The Yard Bar and Grill" during the game sponsored by Connecticut Distributors. A special ticket is required for this event. The evening ends with a Boy Scout Sleepover underneath the stars at Dodd Stadium.

The Tigers and Spinners finish a two-game series in Lowell on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Charlie Gillies (0-1, 3.32) gets the start for the Tigers against RHP Jacob Dahlstrand (0-2, 3.86) for the Spinners.

The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers saw a 23% increase in attendance in 2011, (the 4th highest in Minor League Baseball), and are in their 3rd season at Dodd Stadium. Tickets are now on sale!
