Spikes Announce Meet The Team Event

(STATE COLLEGE, PA)-State College Spikes fans can get a head start on the fun, affordable family entertainment of the 2013 season at the free Meet the Team Event at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Saturday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The event will pack plenty of enjoyment for fans of all ages, making it a great gift to Dad for Father's Day weekend. The array of activities will include the opportunity to play catch on the field, free inflatables and games in Ike's Kids Zone, and a team autograph session on the field with the future major league stars of the St. Louis Cardinals. Fans will also get an up-close and personal look at the Spikes with live interviews on the concourse.

In addition, the Spikes will hit the field for a workout under the lights at 7:30 p.m., and fans are welcome to stay at the ballpark to see the prospects of the Cardinals system in action.

The Meet the Team Event will provide an exciting prelude to Opening Night, presented by PSECU and 95.3 FM 3WZ, on Monday, June 17, as the Spikes begin the 2013 season against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) in a 7:05 p.m. matchup. The Year of the Millionth Fan Celebration kicks off when gates will open at the special time of 5 p.m. to the general public. All fans age 18 and over will be able to enter a drawing to be named the official "One Millionth Spikes Fan" and roll for the chance at $1,000,000 after the game, with post-game FIREWORKS presented by PSECU.
