State College Spikes News Release

(STATE COLLEGE, PA)- Saturday's game between the State College Spikes and Williamsport Crosscutters at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park is now scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch, instead of the originally scheduled 7:05 p.m. start, to accommodate fans attending the Taylor Swift concert at the neighboring Bryce Jordan Center.

Fans attending the concert can get even more value at the ballpark on Saturday, as well. Anyone showing a concert ticket at the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Box Office will get $2 off any ticket for Saturday's game, or $3 off an Outfield Bleacher ticket.

Gates will open at the special time of 11:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than usual, for the Pre-Game Team Autograph Session. Fans can get their Spikes memorabilia signed by all the Spikes, including manager Gary Robinson and his coaching staff. Every fan will be a winner at the ballpark on Scratch ‘n' Win Saturday, with each fan receiving a scratch-off card with a great Spikes prize on it as they come through the gates. One lucky fan will win the grand prize of a 2010 Spikes season ticket. Also, the first 1,500 fans through the gates will also take home a Spikes' Fleece Blanket presented by the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau.

In addition, kids can run the bases after the game, and college students from Penn State and elsewhere will also be able to take advantage of the Student 3-2-1 Special. Tickets will be available at $3 off, plus $2 sodas and $1 hot dogs will be available all game long for students who present a valid college ID.
