
Sparks Sign Karlie Samuelson

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks signed guard Karlie Samuelson to a seven day contract, Sparks Executive Vice President and General Manager Penny Toler announced today. Samuelson was a member of the Sparks 2019 training camp roster and played her rookie season for Los Angeles in 2018, appearing in 20 regular season games and one playoff game for the Sparks.
The guard recently represented Great Britain in the 2019 FIBA EuroBasket tournament where she averaged 11.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists to help her team advance to the semifinals of the competition. As a result, Great Britain qualified for Pre-Olympic Qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In the quarterfinal qualification game against Montenegro, Samuelson scored 28 points and connected on four 3-pointers in a breakout performance.
Samuelson attended Stanford University and is from Huntington Beach, California.
