Charlotte Knights News Release

(Fort Mill, SC) - Jordan Danks, a 2011 MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove Award-winner, was recalled to Chicago today, as announced by the White Sox. Danks takes the roster spot in Chicago of RHP Deunte Heath, who was optioned back to the Knights. Also today, the Knights have activated Lars Anderson from the disabled list, putting the Charlotte roster back at 25 active players. So far this season, Charlotte has sent three players to Chicago (Heath, Tyler Greene, and Danks).

Danks, 26, returns to the White Sox for the third time in his career after two promotions from Charlotte a season ago. The Austin, Texas native was enjoying a solid 2013 campaign with the Knights, hitting .333 (17-51) with two home runs and five RBIs over 13 games. He is currently tied for second in the IL in hits (17) and fourth in at-bats (51).

Originally selected in the seventh round of the 2008 draft, Danks was in his fourth season with the Knights. He is currently among the Knights all-time career leaders in a number of categories. Danks is second in hits (314), tied for first in triples (11), second in walks (150), third in doubles (69), third in runs scored (173), second in at-bats (1,177), third in games played (329), and sixth in RBIs (142).

Heath, 27, began the season with the Knights and posted a 0-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances (three innings pitched). The right-hander was promoted to the White Sox on Friday, April 12 -- becoming the first Knight to go from Charlotte to Chicago this season. Heath appeared in one game for the White Sox this season and allowed one run (a home run) over 1.2 innings pitched on April 13.

Anderson, 25, spent the 2012 season with the Boston Red Sox, Pawtucket Red Sox, and Columbus Clippers. He was claimed off waivers by the White Sox from the Arizona Diamondbacks on February 1, 2013. He was then claimed off of waivers by Toronto this spring, but traded to the White Sox on April 1 after he was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on March 29.

The California native began the 2013 season on Charlotte's disabled list and has yet to play in a game this year.

The Knights begin a two-game series with the Durham Bulls from Durham, NC tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Knights return home to Knights Stadium on Friday, April 19 for a quick two-game series with the Gwinnett Braves.
