Today's Game:

The Buffalo Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in a doubleheader at NBT Bank Stadium (Game 1: 4:00 p.m.). The club's will play two seven-inning games because of a rainout last night. Buffalo opened the four-game set in Syracuse with a 6-1 win on Monday. On Friday, the Bisons will travel to Lehigh Valley for a four-game series with the IronPigs.

Bisons vs. Chiefs

The Bisons are 1-2 against Syracuse this year. The Chiefs swept a rain-shortened series at Coca-Cola Field, April 8-9. Buffalo was 10-6 against Syracuse last year, but the Chiefs are 42-25 against the Herd since the start of the 2009 season.

MARTY BROWN is just 10 wins away from the Bisons modern era record. His 243 wins are shy of only Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famers Brian Graham (253) and Terry Collins (246).

Start Me Up

The Bisons have used seven different starting pitchers in the club's first nine games. RHP JUSTIN GERMANO gets the ball in Game 1 tonight for his third start of the season. The only other starter to make more than one start is RHP CLAUDIO VARGAS. Tonight's Game 2 starter, RHP MIGUEL BATISTA, will be making his second start of 2013.

Nation's Best Hitter

INF JIM NEGRYCH'S has hit in all seven games he's played in this season. His .545 batting average is better than any hitter in all of affiliated baseball, two points ahead of Sacramento's Stephen Vogt (Triple-A, PCL). Negrych also leads the IL with a .600 on-base percentage and is third in the circuit with a .818 slugging percentage.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons .319 team batting average continues to be the best in baseball, six points ahead of the Pacific Coast League's Sacramento (.313)...OF MOISES SIERRA and INF ANDY LaROCHE are the only two Bisons that have played in all nine of the team's games this year...INF EUGENIO VELEZ has hit in six of the seven games he's played in. His .357 batting average is the 10th-best mark in the International League...The Bisons have had just one save opportunity this year, with RHP NEIL WAGNER closing out a 3-2 win over Rochester on April 5.

Toronto (6-8) lost to the White Sox by a 4-3 score last night at Rogers Centre. C J.P. ARENCIBIA hit his fifth home run of the season while OF COLBY RASMUS blasted his fourth. The Blue Jays host the White Sox again tonight at 7:07 p.m. with LHP J.A. HAPP on the mound.
