Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox lost, 2-0, against the New Orleans Zephyrs at Zephyr Field on Sunday evening. Zephyr right fielder Ryan Thompson hit a game-winning two-run homer in the ninth inning to give New Orleans a 2-0 victory. New Orleans starter Carlos Hernandez pitched seven innings, giving up five hits and no runs while striking out five. Sky Sox starter Adam Bernero pitched seven innings, giving up four hits and no runs, striking out six. Clint Barmes and Rene Reyes led the way for the Sox both going 2-for-4. The Sky Sox return home for a four game homestand against the Oklahoma Redhawks Monday night at 7:05. Taking the mound for the Sox will be RHP Kip Bouknight (0-2, 5.00) and for the Redhawks LHP Nick Bierbrodt (1-0, 4.50) will take to the hill.
