Sox Drop Final Game of First Half

Billings, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Billings Mustangs 14-8 at Cobb Field in Billings. Eric Everly (1-2) took the loss for the Sox as he worked five innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits. The win went to Logan Ondrusek (1-2) as he worked three innings in relief, allowing four runs on six hits. The save went to Kenny Geiersbach (1) as he worked two innings, allowing one run on one hit.

Billings scored first in the second inning as they sent 11 men to the plate and scored six times. In the inning the first four batters all reached base and scored. There were also two Great Falls errors that lead to three unearned runs.

Great Falls would score three times in the fourth and fifth innings. Evan Tartgalia had a two run single and a bunt RBI single, Brandon Johnson and Rolando Acosta had RBI groundouts, and Daron Roberts had an RBI base hit.

Billings took a 7-6 lead into the bottom of the sixth. Jordan Belcher had a sac fly and Jose Ronda and Mark Rodriguez had run scoring hits to put Billings up 10-6.

Great Falls and Billings would then exchange late inning runs before the Mustangs scored four times in the eighth to put the game away. Billings would win 14-8.

Tomorrow night the Sox will play the third game of the four game series with the Billings Mustangs. The starters for the game are: Carlos Perez (LHP) for Great Falls and Rafael Gonzalez (RHP) for Billings. Game time is at 7:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:50.
