Sounders FC to Host Startup Weekend

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC will host a sports-focused Startup Weekend October 24th-26th at the Impact Hub located in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood . Startup Weekend brings together a global network of passionate leaders and entrepreneurs on a mission to inspire, education, and empower individuals, teams and communities. Participants share ideas, form teams and launch startups during the three-day event.

With the first ever sports-focused Startup Weekend event held in the Seattle area, Sounders FC is looking for the next big idea in the sports industry. Attendees will explore technology based innovations to improve fan experience, support team development and accelerate business objectives with a focus on cutting-edge, never-been-done-before ideas that fit into the club's fan-centric brand and unique matchday experience.

"Startup Weekend aligns closely with key areas of our brand such as innovation, community involvement, and competition," said Sounders FC CRO John Rizzardini. "The club is excited to be a part of this global network of passionate leaders and look forward to seeing what ideas develop over the course of the weekend."

In partnership with Startup, event registration will be open to the public until the event reaches capacity of 100 participants. Startup Weekend will lead the facilitation of the event, with the format following traditional Startup Weekend guidelines beginning with the formation of teams, working sessions, and ending with the final pitches to a panel of judges during a Sunday evening reception.

Winning teams will receive Sounders FC prizes including premium tickets and autographed team memorabilia.
