Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - After falling 1-0 to Inter Miami CF last Saturday at Lumen Field, Seattle Sounders FC (2-3-1, 7 points) looks to get back in the win column against the winless San Jose Earthquakes (0-4-3, 3 points). It marks the 35th regular season meeting between the two clubs since 2009, Seattle's first year in MLS. The Rave Green hold a 15-11-8 advantage in the regular season.
Seattle has a 5-5-5 record in San Jose in regular-season play, with a minus-two goal differential. However, Seattle is unbeaten in its last nine road matches at San Jose dating back to 2014 (4-0-5). In fact, the Rave Green haven't lost to the Bay Area side since June 20, 2016, a 2-0 defeat at Lumen Field.
Following Saturday's match, Seattle returns to 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League action to take on Liga MX side Pumas UNAM in the first leg of the Final at Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City on Wednesday, April 27 (7:30 p.m. PT / FS1, TUDN, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). The second leg will be played in Seattle the following Wednesday, May 4 at Lumen Field (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, TUDN, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
