
New England Revolution Sign Midfielder Dylan Borrero

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution have acquired 20-year-old midfielder Dylan Borrero (pronounced bor-RAIR-oh) from Clube Atletico Mineiro of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and signed him to a three-year MLS contract with a one-year club option, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Borrero is New England's first acquisition under Major League Soccer's U-22 Initiative aimed to promote further investment in young players.
"Dylan Borrero is a young attacking player we have followed closely over the past year," Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena said. "His technical ability and pace are assets which will complement our attack. We are excited to welcome him to the New England Revolution."

Owns 50 professional appearance across all competition for both Independiente Santa Fe and Atletico Mineiro, totaling three goals and five assists as a winger.
Helped win the Brasileiro Série A and Copa do Brasil in first full professional season with Atletico Mineiro in 2021.
Made 10 appearances in the 2022 Campeonato Mineiro, logging one goal and two assists en route to the state title.
Has a combined seven international appearances for Colombia at the U-17, U-18, and U-20 levels.
Borrero arrives in New England with 50 professional appearances across all competitions for Atletico Mineiro and Colombian first-division side Independiente Santa Fe. Primarily a winger with experience on both the left and right sides, Borrero helped Mineiro win the 2021 Brasileiro Série A and Copa do Brasil titles in his first season with the club. A native of Palmira, Colombia, Borrero made an additional 10 appearances in the 2022 Campeonato Mineiro, where he netted one goal and distributed two assists in helping guide Mineiro to the club's record 47th state championship.
On the international stage, Borrero collected seven appearances across the U-17, U-18, and U-20 levels for his native Colombia, scoring three goals. Borrero tallied his first international goal against Brazil in the 2019 U-17 South American Championship. Most recently, the midfielder logged a brace at the U-20 level in an international friendly against Ecuador in December 2020.
Borrero marks New England's second international signing this month, following the acquisition of Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrović on April 6.
