
Sounders FC Receives $50,000 in General Allocation Money from D.C. United in Exchange for Oniel Fish

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC today announced that it has acquired $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from D.C. United in exchange for defender Oniel Fisher. The Jamaican fullback moves to the Eastern Conference side after three seasons with Seattle, starting 18 of 27 MLS regular-season appearances.

"We want thank Oniel for his time in Seattle and his contributions to our club," said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey. "Oniel has been a good pro over the past three seasons, and we wish him every success in the next step of his journey with D.C. United."
Fisher, 26, has 27 career MLS regular-season appearances in three seasons for Sounders FC after being selected in the Second Round (40th overall) in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft out of New Mexico. The speedy fullback also has five appearances in the MLS Cup Playoffs and has been a consistent contributor for the Jamaican National Team.
Sounders FC's 2018 preseason presented by adidas continues this coming week in Tucson, with Brian Schmetzer's side returning to the Pacific Northwest on Thursday, February 8. Prior to the MLS regular season starting on March 4, Sounders FC is set to face Salvadoran club Santa Tecla FC in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the region's premier club championship, with the first leg in El Salvador on February 22 and the second leg at CenturyLink Field on March 1.
